Uganda has over ten National Parks that tourists visit per year. These protected area dot the different regions of the country.
Out of this ten parks, Murchison Falls National Park is the largest and covers a total area of 3893 square kilometers.
This notable protected area is geographically located in the North western part of Uganda stretching from the shores of Lake Albert up to the famous Karuma falls in the North western Uganda. This Park straddles over four districts including Masindi, Kiryandongo, Nwoya and Buliisa.
It is about 283km North West of Kampala when travelling by road means using Kampala – Masindi – Gulu highway.
