Places to Visit

This 5 Day Rwanda Safari awards you opportunities to meet Rwanda’s Mountain Gorillas and Golden monkey primates in the lush jungles of Volcanoes National Park. You have an optional visit to the Iby’wachu cultural village.

Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Kinigi

On the day of arrival, you will be picked by our safari guide, greet each other and after transfer to Kigali for a city tour. You will visit numerous points of interest like craft shops, genocide memorial and more.

After the city tour, have lunch and then drive to Volcanoes National Park in Kinigi. Accommodation option at Budget: Hotel Muhabura, Mid-range: Da Vince Lodge and Luxury; Silverback Gorilla Lodge/Mountain Gorilla View Lodge

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking

Very early in the morning, after breakfast, transfer up to the park headquarters for the briefing conducted to highlight trekkers about Gorilla trek. Do not forget your packed food and drinking water.

After briefing, you will be transferred up to the starting point. The Journey to the Jungle starts in search of these apes. You will be allowed to be in their presence for one hour, after descend back to the Lodge for relaxation

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking

Be at the Park headquarters in time for the briefing conducted to highlight trackers on what to do and what not to do.

After briefing, meet your ranger guide and transfer up to the starting point. You will start the trekking journey within the Jungle until you discover their location.

These primates are found in the mountainous bamboo forested areas; therefore physical fitness is a must. After good moments with these monkeys, you start the Journey back to the Park headquarters.

Day 4: Dian Fossey Hike – Iby’wachu Cultural Village.

On day in Volcanoes National Park, you will hike up to the exact location of the Dian Fossey grave yard.

Dian Fossey was an American conservationist who started the campaigns towards saving the lives of mountains.

After the tour around and a visit to the research Centre, you start the journey back to the headquarters.

Your driver will later transfer you back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the evening you have an option to visit the Iby’wachu cultural village.

Day 5: Drive back to Kigali – Departure

After great moments in Volcanoes National Park, you will say bye on day five. After breakfast you drive back to Kigali city.

Have lunch, visit the bank for money withdraw in case you need it, do some shopping and later transfer to the airport for your return flight.
